I met Andrea Schroeder in May 2011, when she had a guest appearance with Danish band, Farmen (see my photos here).
So when The Walkabouts headed for their first performance in Denmark for 20 years (see my photos from their gig here) The Walkabouts guitarist,Chris Eckman, offerded Andrea to do the opening gig at their Copenhagen show.
Andrea Schoeder is a Berlin, Germany based artist, at the moment recording har debut album, scheduled for a 2012 release. The album is produced by Chris Eckman from The Walkabouts.
Her music is dark and melancolic, and at some monemts I get reminders of Nico, and Patti Smith. Even Leonard Cohen seems like a merry guy compared to Andrea :-)
At this night at Vega, The Penetrators front man, Gery Heffern, did the shared vocal on two of the songs
